IGo, Kensington and Targus all make universal power supplies primarily designed as replacements for laptops. Each appears to use the same strategy for delivering multiple voltages - an output cord terminating in a 3 conductor connector, and multiple "power tips" that both fit different connectors and select the correct voltage for the attached device.
I would like to use these supplies with devices other than those included in the tip list (amateur radio equipment for example), but I cannot find any reference data that shows the size and voltage for each tip.
My questions are:
1. How does the tip control the voltage that is supplied to the attached device?
2. What are the voltage & size specs for each tip?
3. Are the products from Kensington, Targus and iGo interchangable?
Kensington/Targus/iGo power tip reference data?
