I am looking for inspiration. My TV has a sound bar which is connected to the subwoofer via Bluetooth. The subwoofer is located across the room and the two rear speakers are wired to the subwoofer. The right rear speaker is on the wrong side of the room. I know I can just extend the wire across the room the put it where I want it, but my wife is not happy with having wires visible. So I am looking for (hopefully inexpensive and uncomplicated ) solutions to relocate that speaker. Any suggestions?

Well, there are a number of things you can do from RF to infrared to other light source transmission, but there is another newer option. Not sure if it is out yet. Check out this CES update from ToidsDIY: https://www.youtube.com/live/8xmL299Sxp ... 33k&t=1947

Any wireless audio link will need AC power for the amplifier in the "wireless" speaker. If there is no AC outlet near the speaker you'll have to run an extension cord. IMO clear insulated speaker wire is easier to hide than an extension cord. Do not use speaker wire for AC, that's NOT SAFE! (battery power not realistic for quality audio speakers)

If the room has AC outlets near the various speaker locations, you're in luck, pick an audio link method. If not, I'm sorry to be bearer of bad news.

Cheers,

Maybe check out Rocketfish they have wireless audio transmitters. Rocketfish also makes a BT receiver that you also can connect to your stereo, I found that alone was really handy. Now i can blast jams using my tablet.
They do also make wireless speaker systems. I bought a set of these for my aunt in Germany when i was there a few years ago.. transmitter is in the house, and the speakers are out in the Sunroom/ patio. they loved it. was really easy to connect as well..

it's going to be tricky to pull off without creating a small delay and volume differential to that singularly de-wired speaker that might ruin the surround effect. One usually wants to drive paired speakers from the same amplifier. you might need to do whatever to both. With that caution, if you search your favorite shopping site for "wireless speaker kit for wired speakers" you will see some choices. It won't be inexpensive; you will need a transmitter that can take analog input and a receiver with adjustable output level and similar power to the original so you can balance the volume. If your tuner has a way to adjust each channel, you may have more options to fine tune it, A TV probably won't.

There is probably a hard way path with a BT receiver module and your own code.

There are many ways to hide a wire. When you tell her the cost difference, maybe there will be some compromise, Search for "Cord Hider"

I was thinking this one over and now I feel that a low-cost FM transmitter and a transistor radio adapted in some way (wiring mostly) would result in a workable system with little delay and only modest bandwidth compression. As long as the receiving radio has enough volume that is.
