why not use a buck / boost converter ? Or get an adjustable driver..
what voltages and current are you working with?
What use of the leds ? constant load or intermittent ?
the more info the better..

Hmmm, there weren't replies when it was taken care of. Must have been that split second as the button was being pushed.
