I downloaded a few QR code readers , but i got one QR that i cannot read.. can anyone tell me what type of a QR code this.. ( pic attached ) and recommend a app that will work..

Well crap...i can't attach a pic, says too large, and i don't know how to make it smaller,,
The code is like a stretched out QR code, and bar code on both ends. This is on a usps padded envelope at the top of the lable..

./download/file.php?avatar=241.jpg" is not a URL and your PC is not a server. See post in "Message Board Update"

Was the code on the envelope before it was used, or added after address and method of sending (priority, 1st class, parcel post, etc.) is determined?

the code is printed out after address info etc is entered..
i'll see if i can find another way to post the pic.. i'll have to go use photobucket again..hope i remember my password..lol

ok, lets see if this works.... OK, it works, but a bit larger than i thought..but at least it worked..

my buddy has a Motorola Z? phone, and his camera has some software in it that reads it . I asked him what app he is using, and he said nothing,, the camera figures it out,, he just activates the camera, and it automatically reads bar codes and QR codes, and the one i posted.
when i try to read it with my app, it just prints out garbage.
but his, shows my address, the senders address, and postage etc.

i think it is a PDF417 , but why none of the apps i have can not read it..

Likely because it is proprietary and contains payment information (the value of the postage) they probably don't want anyone tampering or learning how to make free stamps. If that is the case, no public app will have access to the database the code points to.

but if that's the case, then how is my buddy able to read it with his phone ? he installed nothing, he has just what came with the phone..i think his is a Moto Z.

I was also able to read a string of nonsense characters probably translated from a binary string but it was all garbage. I couldn't say if that string was correct or scrambled but it was clear one needed the right app with access to the right database. I used the first QR reader app I found in the app store.

Check if this provides enough clues :

From above, online : select PDF417 ----> https://online-barcode-reader.inliteresearch.com/

i looked at the links, they weren't of much help to recommend a app that could read the scans..
