Post by helgrind »

Been looking for any information on SBC's and pc104 devices, I'm looking to setup a car computer system (embedded o/s, most likely bsd or linux) and capability to run another hard drive (mp3's, internet, etc) also I want to run an engine monitoring system (temps., rpm, speed, etc.) any info you guys might have would be really appreciated!
Cheers,
Daniel

Sorry can't help with PC104 devices.
Have you tried the Linux user groups or the PC104 newsgroup?
It might also be worthwhile looking at sites that have done parts of what you want to do but using uP, after all if it is the coding side you're looking for then the code for mp3 or for engine management can just be ported to Linux.
There is an Linux group that deals with electronic intefacing - just can't recall it off hand.
Join the PICLIST (no cost and moderated), ask the question on the EE list. www.piclist.com
Alternatively try alt.binaries.schematics.electronics NG
colin
On a clear disk you can seek forever.
