short wave reception on a scanner

Post by spindown »

Several years ago I recall someone discussing making a frequency converter to receive short wave signals(1.7 mhz-30 mhz) on a high frequency scanner(25mhz-900mhz). I don't recall the specifics if short wave was AM or ssb and if the scanner was FM. Any references? thanks Paul

Broadcast ShortWave is AM, amateur broadcasts are more likely to be SSB but can also be AM. <p>

This doesnt help with the scanner part, but I know that several magazines have run articles about frequency converters to listen to shortwave on ordinary AM radios...
