Hi all. Please check behind your spider webs for any vented electrets. Typical 9.5mm size or low profile; with or without pins/leads.

They look like :

Thanks, Tzap.

The venting is at the connection side. Yours show the perforations at the sound side.

Ordered some but coming from a chinese vendor is a roulette; if they ship exactly what they show pictured or whatever they want.
I do not think they know what they are selling. Should be here in a week and then will have a good or bad surprise with a complain from me.
But for $1.60 a dozen, its worth the gambling... Will see.

Okay,

But I think you've got a longer wait, since they are being shipped from China.
{I was thinking it was going to be at least a month before you'd get them. If you went "FREE SHIPPING".}

If you just need one, go dumpster diving for a cheap crappy {wired} phone.

Or
An old Cordless Phone.

Just crack it open and grab the condenser mic out of it.

:x Have about 2 dozen from canibalized gadgets and telephones of all sorts, none is vented

Drilled low the sides of one carefully with 0.40mm holes and still works, seems I did not break anything inside, but unsure the plastic spacer inside got drilled all the way trough. One more week to see if wasted my wait time.

Are you trying to make a "Noise Canceling" circuit?
Or are you wanting to make an Omnidirectional Microphone?

Because the images of capsules you have posted here, are designed just for that type of application.
The Link I put in to Goldmine Electronics of the Panasonic WM-54BT, is a Omnidirectional Microphone.

Do not care about directionality, but the noise cancelling feature does not bother to have.
Building scuba intercoms and pressure at depth would burst the electret film if not vented...

Electrets arrived from China last week. As expected, not vented, another idiot vendor and the typical ignorant advertising.
Am drilling the ones I have for the project. Done. Erase the blackboard...

This is why I said go look at Electronic Goldmine.
At least they have a Toll free number: 1-800-445-0697.
Thus, you can talk too an actual person, and ask if the mic they have is rear vented.

I personally prefer checking the electronic supply companies in the USA first for an item, before considering getting it from over seas{China}.

I've been burned to many times now too consider purchasing a item off e-bay from a seller in China.

I like Tayda. I've ordered a few items from them on Ebay. They've been well packaged and the items were excellent and well marked.
