csa-1v sentron ( current sensor )

Post by dacflyer »

i found a pair of these sensors, i was looking around on line, did not find much info on these except for the data sheet.
i was wanting to try and incorporate this with a volt meter to use it as a digital amp meter.
any help ?

i know it said the output is proportional to the current.. meaning ??? is 1A = 1V ?

Do you mean the Hall Effect device?

"proportional" does not necessarily mean literal one-to-one, just that if graphed you get a straight line.
Like 1Amp gives 0.75V, then 2Amp would give 1.5V, etc

Cheers,

Those look more like a magnetic field sensor, meaning the position of the conductor to the sensor will be critical to an accurate read of current.
These cheapo's work great for both voltage and current measurement:

them ebay ones are cheap.. but there is not external separated sensor.
i am trying to use the sensors i have.. but can't find a circuit for one..
and the tech info is a lil over my head.

If you want to use those odd fellows, you have some calibrating to do.
Set a fixed current and read a voltage, repeat for different currents and plot a curve.
