i been dealing with this now for a while, but it is just getting to be annoying now..
my computer fan has started running all the time lately and getting quite hot ( laptop )
used to run cool all the time.. and no it is not dirty..
anyway i checked to see what was hogging memory and such, and the item called SVCHOST.EXE is running 25% or more.
why i do not know. or how to fix it.. i do know that if i kill it, then later if i try to add or copy files, it will not allow it,, it just ignores any request. ( example i want to move files from a thumb drive to laptop, request does not function )

anyone else have this issue.. my laptop is like a hotplate.. if i kill the svchost.exe then the laptop settles down and is cool again..

It probably isn't svchost by itself.
But one of the programs that uses it for something else.

Here's an article for windows 7, that talks about the issue.
