Win7 and search engine

I went to a friends place of business yesterday, his wife said they got a new office computer and she wanted to use Dogpile as the default search engine. No problem, right!
Guess again, even though I deleted the 2 google and one bing, it still went to google. The search settings said dogpile "not available". If you type in dogpile.com, the computer goes right to it, no problem.
For some reason win7 will not accept dogpile as a default, and goes to google, even though it's not listed.
Anybody else run into this? Is there a fix?
