blue box with padlock in it

what's up with the blue box in the middle of my screen, has a white padlock that is locked, then unlocks, then locks and on and on.. just started.. ?

Here's some info from another board that may be of help....

Many monitors have an on-screen display lock (the padlock icon) that seems to get stuck.
Various suggestions are in the links below - the one that seems to work most often is to hold the monitor's menu button down for 15-20 seconds to get the screen menu, then either try unlocking the OSD (On Screen Display) or do a factory reset on the monitor.

thanks Lenp.. it worked.. never seen that before, didn't even know about the buttons on the side of this monitor? I know now..
