I have built this project - works great! I also incorporated the Life game from the previous article on this particular display. I can provide the updated files if anyone is interested. I did notice, at least on my board, that after a number of generations my Life pattern would repeat on a cycle more that what the code detects. I added a MaximumGenerations parameter so it will force a reset after so many generations.

Two more features I want to add to the Life game are 1) be able to configure the maximum number of generations with the remote and 2) when the code detects a repeating pattern, display the number of generations it took to get there for a few seconds before resetting.
