Cool! Controlling a robot via your brain! I saw something similar being done using your brain to play video games a couple of years ago. I looked it up on the internet and found this:

Control with BrainWaves

Post by tamarix »

I am looking for more information about developing a simple system that can control a computer cursor via brainwaves. My motivation is a handicapped daughter that has sever limited motor functions but is very bright intellectually and would really benefit from something like this. Anyone that could point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated!
Thanks

Hello and welcome Doug...

I have little experience on this topic... only information that I have read.

From what I've read, commercial EEG tools are too expensive to become a hobbyist toy right now. I have yet to get my hands dirty, to see whats out there thou...

Heres a site I looked at a little while ago.

http://openeeg.sourceforge.net/doc/index.html

Theres a lot of information on EEG projects... but please read the WARNING section ... they will give you a warning similar to this.

"Note that CONNECTING A DEVICE VIA ELECTRODES TO HUMANS OR ANIMALS IS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS AND MAY RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK AND/OR SEIZURE."

I hope this helps... I wish you luck on your project and let us know of any updates.
