Question about hooking up R/C receiver to BS2

Post by DestroyerX »

Hi,
I saw Dan Danknicks post on the Techtrax forums on:
http://206.131.241.58/ubb/ultimatebb.ph ... 3&t=000116
I am doing the same thing, hooking up my R/C receiver to my Basic
Stamp 2, and interpreting the pulse using the PULSIN command. I have
a hitec receiver, which is powered by 6 volts. When I hook in the
signal wire to an I/O port on my Board of Education (w/ BS2), it gives
me random symbols in the terminal window when I tell it do Debug the
input pulse width. If you want to see my type of receiver, it can be
found here:
http://pages.sbcglobal.net/tomtruong/im ... 7ss-02.jpg
If I'm inputting 6v does that necessarily mean it will output 6v?
Also, if it doesn't, will that affect my BS2 reading the result; you
said in your post that receivers nowadays only output 3v, is that not
sufficient voltage?
Is there anything you can notice right a way that I could be doing wrong?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Jason

Haven't heard anything for a couple days. Is it working now? (here is a better place to ask your questions than e-mail, 'cause I can answer from home or work, and if I forget something somebody else will catch it)

If you didn't get my email, I did get it to work. Their is, however, a fluctuation between about 3 numbers (with a grounded resistor) but it is not important as my program doesn't have to analyze very precise values.
Thanks,
Jason
