Underwater Robotics

Just curious about how many people are interested in underwater hobby robotics. I was thinking about setting up a web site to collect techniques and tricks needed to get an ROV up and running. Stuff like sealing, motor driving, sensors ( on a budget), and cooling. <p>Cheers,

The only problem with underwater robots is that only fish can see them.

I was thinking about using a tether to a surface float with a Ramsey electronics tv transmitter and using a small pinhole camera inside a clear enclosure on the submersible part. About 30 feet of video cable connect the two.

Back in 1956 I worked on a vehicle like that for the navy. People are still working with the same concepts. This had a tether with camera and control. It was supposed to destroy mines.
It is an interesting area. I just don't have any handy water right now.
