i am wanting to build me a GPS clock that flashes the time and date.
read more here...
then i am open to suggestions or help..

Well I'm pretty clueless about doing this with an AVR and I'd be more likely to approach this with a Raspberry Pi. I know that Sparkfun and AdaFruit have GPS modules and some tutorials - that might be a good place to look.

i have seen a few post where it has been done with an AVR, but they did not drive large led displays.
nor did any of them flash the time and date..usually it was just time..
but i have read that all the time and date can be parsed off of the GPS information..
still a ton to learn here...sigh...
