Re: EXTEC meters E320X

I found this for a different model EXTEC meter. But it may work for yours. Disable Auto Power OFF The meter will enter sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity. Press the Mode button to awaken the meter. To defeat this feature, follow the steps below. 1. With the meter OFF, press and hold the M (MO...

Re: EXTEC meters E320X

Hmmm.................. I wonder........... Try this: Just turn on the meter and start the egg timer at the same time. Do Not Connect The Probes To Anything. Now see what happens. If the meter shuts off, after 30 minutes. Then I'd say. The meter starts it's sleep timer when it doesn't sense anything...

Re: EXTEC meters E320X

I've also looked at the manual. There doesn't seem to be a way to shut off the "Sleep Mode" on this meter. Though..... I'd check to see if it really is shutting off sooner than the 30 minutes. Simple enough to have a egg timer ready and set for 30 minutes. Connect the meter to a volt...

Re: Looking for a new gadget....maybe new idea ?

Why not use a Baby Monitor? Plug the Baby Monitor Base unit into the circuit you want to check, with a radio nearby playing. Take the hand held receiver with you to the breaker box. You can listen to the receiver, as you toggle on and off breaker switches. When you no longer can hear the radio on th...

Re: Greetings!

Happy Holidays everyone! One more year of COVID. But the current strain seems to be not as bad as the previous ones. :| Well, the weather has been nasty this past last year. Hail storm back in May, put holes in the roof, and thus had to get it repaired. {Ugh!} :( The Air Fryer's that I got from Men...

Time to Hijack this thread!

RFID Antenna...... What about a standard FM 88 MHz to 108 MHz Frequencies Antenna? I have a little GE Clock Radio that uses a antenna wire wrapped around the AC Power Cord for reception. This normally works okay, but I have to move the Power Cord around sometimes to get the station in better. Or Re...

Spamming for Spammings sake?!

Why aren't these characters posting this SPAM on an Automotive website?

Instead of a Electronics Hobbyists website?

Dacflyer, Your still looking, Huh? Well, like I said before. Get a bunch of Blue Rectangle LED's. A Protoboard, Wire, the Display Wiring Schematic. And make up the display yourself. Edit: I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_yobwaBWr0 Give it a look. The guy came up with a way...

Re: loud tv commercials

High level signal into an external amp, aka speaker level like in car audio or even some subwoofer audio. Yeah, it's a pain to add more stuff onto the end run, but it seems to be the easiest way to gain access for analog solutions like we used to have. Anyway, years ago it was the blanking between ...
