Re: triac problems..

Hmmm, funny i been dimming neon for many years now, it can be dimmed quite a bit before it actually does extinguish, i have dimmed neon as much as 75% , usually i have a higher rated voltage transformer, than needed ,also the footage of neon is a factor too..too much neon and it will not dim much at ...

Re: triac problems..

i am not just using neon i am using other lights as well , also you say neon doesn't need a transformer...then how do you explain getting 120v steped up to 7.5kv - 15kv then ? i also make neon too, so i am up to par on that, i know they make switching supplies for them too, but still it is a step up...

Re: triac problems..

thats alright, but won't help for dimming purposes
the controller that controls the triac pac
has many functions...flashing / dimming etc.
its got many patterns as well as one of the best color organs i've ever seen.except here they call the color organ a audio processor... thanx anyway.

Re: electronic govener for gas engine

oh boy,, what a can of worms..lol this engin i have looks like either a wisconsion or a techumsie... ( for give spelling errors please ) it is an old cast iron block engine rated about 5-7HP.i might have to opt for a home made mechanical version... but i see no room under the starter / flywheel hous...

Re: sequence controller needed

Re: electronic govener for gas engine

Hmmm, this might not be as easy as i thought, this engin i have has a 90* offset carb, and i see no was to make a air type governer for this engine,, the origional governer was internal,,
i thought that maybe with the servo and a pickup ( hall sensor ) near the flywheel and some kind of simple con...

Re: electronic govener for gas engine

i gives good ideas, but i have no idea how to make this , i was thinking a servo whould do the trick with, a controller to keep rpms fairly steady, even when a load is applied,it whould recover. i just don't have the brains to make such a controller...Hmmm

Re: electronic govener for gas engine

yes, i know a lot about gas engines, but you will not find the air vain controled governers on a horizontal engine, the governers are internal with centrifical weights. the parts are no longer available for this engine, thats why i need a electronic version , i like to have something kind of accurat...

Re: sequence controller needed

thanx, but i do need the flashing part,, what about a
on
off
on
off etc..programmed into the chip ?
that whould simulate the flashing effect?
if you do use a pic or stamp then i whould only need 3 out puts right? then i whould have the output goto a solid state relay..
what do you think ?
