He is talking about the "Seimens traction motor " which I'm pretty sure that is a 3 phase A/C motor, the controller needs to be matched to the motor, they are "tuned" to work together.
This guy can tell you more about the controller you need.

Here is a link to more information than you ever wanted to know about charging batteries. Happy digging. http://www.uuhome.de/william.darden/carfaq9.htm The battery is full when you reach 2.45 volts per cell and the current stops dropping, and the battery is empty when the voltage drops to 1.75 volt...

Thank you everybody for your input, dyarker, haklesup, Chris and all the others. I'm going to go with the collective experience of this group and use the 7555 CMOS, I did some Google work and found a circuit very close to what I need, I will get some chips Wednesday for testing. Next question, what ...

I like Google, I kept typing in time delay relay but it worked much better with time delay circuit. This was what I was thinking of, running right off the ignition switch. Simple, low part count, and nA leakage draw. I need something that is dam near bullet proof, now the question is which way to go...

I see what you mean about the CMOS and the 555, I'm new at this so bear with me. I got the data sheet for the 555 and it shows the low state current as 10mA, am I reading this right and is this what it will draw in the off state? :???: http://www.semiconductors.philips.com/acrobat_download/datasheet...

Thanks for the ideas, I have tried these http://www.chargeguard.com/what_is_charge.html Charge Guards, but they draw 18mA which is worse. The cars parasitic draw is 7.8mA without my stuff on it. A perfect solution would be uA or less and I would like to find something already on the market if possib...

Power holdup capacitor
Here's the set-up, I have a circuit in some vehicles that needs to be powered for about 10 minutes after the ignition is shut off in order to refuel at the gas pump, the unit draws 15mA. I had the unit connected to the vehicle battery oringally and powered all the time but this proved to be too much...

Thank you for the welcome Dean, a good way to see if a conversion is a good fit for you is to keep track of your driving trips for a month or so and then check in the EV album for a vehicle that fits your driving needs, I like to copy what works for other people instead of doing all those back of th...

I have had my Mazda for what? maybe 6 years now?, I built it as a drag car and then at before it got to the strip I decided to put it on the street and run it as a street legal car. Motor problems, Oh yeah! but it wasn't the motors fault, all the damage belongs to me. The ADC 9.1 inch motor is rated...

Thank you for the welcome, component information on my car and a few hundred other cars can be found at http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/179 as well as my web site. Our electric rates here in Las Vegas as well as across the country has changed so much and fast that I had to go look up the current rat...
