The US embraced aluminum wire years ago, and regretted some of it.
Today aluminum is still used for large feeders teminated with Al/CU rated connectors.
Small wire was a nightmare and has been banned most everywhere due to cold flow and work hardening issues.
Failures are not worth the money saved.

I bought a board set, main board and power supply, for a Vizo a few years ago. It was around $30 for the set. The new main board had an issue. They replaced both boards and did not want the first set back.
I guess if you have a factory direct contact the real cost is pennies!
