Re: Western Electric Vacuum Tubes

I never heard the term "punch" used for tubes before either. If it refers to the control grid, two things pop to mind. Frequency response (less likely), and gain. Small punch would block a greater percent of area between cathode and plate, electrons go through the open space (less current)...

Re: Web Development in 2023

Okay, except:
Security: Implement HTTPS, secure user data storage, and keep up with security patches as they emerge.
That is up to web host (aka ISP or web server owner). Select a host that provides HTTPS. The HTML, CSS and script you create for site content is the same for HTTP or HTTPS.

Re: Antenna for Cell Phone!

Do you mean the $20 junk referred to in post 1, or a booster for 5G system? (The paste on was never a booster.)

Re: Antenna for Cell Phone!

( a real post, will explain later if you want.)

I googled "cell phone booster". $20 seems way too low. Check Amazon or Best Buy, etcetera

Re: Battery pack for Ivation cordless tool

Do the B&D packs look like they will fit? Maybe a local store has a display model they'll let try.
(If it works buy at least one there as a "thankyou")
((something shopping the 'net can't do))

Re: Contact (David Ponting)

On-line search gave a December 2004 reference to a December 2003 article about an adjustable resistive load. Is that the one?

I did not find the article itself. To be resistive I'm guessing FETs instead of humongous wire-wound pots.

And cmikowski has not logged in again.
Oh well . . .

Re: microphone parabolic

Even if that is not the article (link in Janitor Tzap's post) I recommend reading it and the side bars (which are actually following bars).

Re: microphone parabolic

I do not remember the article, and was never able to keep old magazines.

Is there a particular aspect you need help with?

To get same bandwidth as wired telephone system (300 HZ to 3400Hz) you will need a dish 1.3 meters (51.5 inches) in diameter
