Looks like the polarity of the 12 VDC at J2 are reversed.

Re: off grid solar project

Years ago, I lived in Campbell, CA, and there was a "surplus" solar provider near where I lived. https://www.mlsolar.com/ Maybe you've talked with them. They had incredible deals on panels, probably still do. In designing the system, go for way more solar power than you think you'll need. ...

Computer Photo Organizers

Has anyone had success with USB "PhotoSticks" that portend to allow finding, sorting, and organizing photos on a computer? I'd like software to help eliminate duplicates, and allow me to sort photos by date, time, or maybe even subject. Most of what I've researched are simple memory device...

Re: Lafayette Stereo-10 Amplifier

First guess would be output transistor. Next, an aging volume potentiometer.

Let us know what you find!

WOW! Thanks Janitor Tzap! Precious info!
I don't suppose you would sell one of those, if you have any spares?

Appreciate your help!

Re: Shopjimmy

The diode was a 9 volt Zener, so swapped it out, and the capacitor. No joy. Inspection under a heat sink on a 8-pin dip reveals the IC blew a lead right out of the case. Dunno what IC it was, other than, "IC900". Without a part number for "IC900", I have no way to replace it. Sup...

Re: Shopjimmy

Janitor Tzap- TV Model is Olevia 427-S12, and power supply is DPS-161APE.

Looks like some carbonization on the board around D903, and C903 (100 MFD, 100V), but haven't got the time to dig in deeper.

Re: Shopjimmy

Janitor Tzap- It sure looks like the power supply assembly-

https://www.shopjimmy.com/olevia-eec-pw ... pply-unit/

They claim to harvest cosmetically inferior TV's for their good components.

Have to wait and see if I actually get to buy one.

Shopjimmy

Anybody ever deal with these folks? https://www.shopjimmy.com/ I'm swapping the power supply board in an older Olivia 27" LCD TV, and found one at this site for $14! Of course, they're "out of stock" at the moment, but wonder how they can sell a power supply for so cheap. Are they for...

Ham again!

Once again, passed the FCC exam for General Class ham license! Last one expired in 1981. A lot has changed in 40 years in ham radio! Satellites, crazy wide bands available (2200 meter band, or above 275 GHz!), computerized everything, handheld 2 meter repeater access, the list goes on. Who's a ham o...

Re: Ghosts

I don't believe in ghosts anymore! Black tape over the IR detector has stopped the random turn-on problem! As I recall, years ago when IR remotes were in their infancy, I recall a "kit" that used a high power IR emitter that was good for several hundred feet of range. Wondering if one of t...
