Robert, My last circuit posted on page 3 as seen below: http://www.postimage.org/PqPEJnJ.jpg Revise, revise, revise... sounds like I'm submitting it to the government! Here's Steve's on page 2: http://www.postimage.org/gx1zvohr.jpg And Bigglez' w/ Bob's mods on page 4: http://www.postimage.or...

Steve, After I posted, I modeled it in CircuitMaker and found 1K worked fairly well, only dropping a few mV. I figure that it would be a good idea as I eventually plan to use a 12V wallwart and a 7809 (+ conditioning) to run the little bugger if need be. Oh, btw, I am going to put this together as a...

What is interesting about this is that when I first found the original schematic (see link in first post of this thread) and threw it into CircuitMaker, I had no idea what input level to use. I think I used either 1V or maybe 500mV. At those levels, clipping was rather nasty until I lowered C1 to, I...

Not suggesting a complete rewiring of the auto, just a visual of the major ground points. Could reduce the noise for $0 and a little time. Also, as you pointed out, if the head unit is high powered, you wouldn't necessarily hear noise through that anyway. Besides, good grounds help keep the other pa...

One question I have not seen asked is: Is this recently purchased Mazda new or used? If it is used, how old and in what condition? If it is used, check the major ground connections in the charging circuit and anywhere else that might be connected to the power supply of the DC-DC converter. Make sure...

As for melting large quantities, anyone know if you can put it in a microwave or toaster oven without it breaking down or, more importantly, fuming the oven with toxins? Go to a craft store and get a glue pot instead of a glue gun. Crafters use the pot in conjunction with a brush when fine applicat...

Here's what I am going to try after Xmas. I took the first revised schematic (at the beginning of the thread) and kept the same values for C1 and C2, but put in a 500 ohm VR feeding C3 (10 uF) and C4 (100 uF) so the user can vary between the two so the Bass response can be tailored. http://www.posti...

I have used a counter top lamination in the past and this makes a nice rough bottom for the feet so they are non slide. True. The parchment paper is actually a tad rough, but still very slippery so it is mostly nonstick. You could even go to a kitchen / cooking type of store (even the big craft sto...

...and placing on top of some clear plastic wrap over a smooth flat surface. Does the glue stick to the plastic wrap or melt it? Have you ever tried either wax paper or parchment paper? I would think that parchment paper would be the best to use in that situation. Hmm, maybe a few tests are in orde...

MrAl, I am already putting part of your suggestion into the schematic, leaving the 10 uF caps in the signal path while changing C3 to 100 uF. This gives a better bottom end response than with the 1 uF caps you suggested. I will leave out the resistor after C3, because it kills the gain too much. I c...
