Re: What's everyone working on?
I'm making an intelligent video switcher. Burglar alarm passive IR sensors signal an OOPIC which selects the camera pointed at the zone monitored by that sensor. So it follows an intruder around the property.
Gerty - we do something like this where I work. We glue aluminum foil on both sides of a ...

Electronic Technician at a high explosive testing site.
Big fun. The Air Force drops bombs on my work site. 20 tons of ANFO is a routine shot. I drive heavy equipment, talk on radios, start fires, blow things up. ( Almost ) All the stuff I got in trouble for as a kid, I get paid for now.

Try a truck stop. Some air horns are solenoid controlled. I think J.C. Whitney sells them in their print catalog.

Re: lead acid battery theory question
You nailed it. When Lead sulphate is exposed to oxygen it hardens. The hardened lead sulphate shields the plate underneath, you have less surface area, the battery capacity diminishes.
This is why you want to recharge a battery ASAP when it gets run down.
Here's a post by a guy who knows a lot o...

Re: Seeking sensor designs
I Can't quite get a fix on what you're doing. The target is passive and fixed, the sensors are active and mobile? The target is confined within a certain area, the sensors can range freely throughout this area?
If this is the case, you need to measure the delay from each sensor, and the bearing to...
