Hello Jim: The symbol you are referring to is simply a screw terminal. It's not a component of any kind. It's simply a way to show an interconnect. Are you sure it was N&V? There was an article in QST magazine in February of 2011 by Terwilliger titled "Build a Modern Signal Tracer". Could you be thinking of that?
