Re: Why doesn't French phone ring in the US?

I Don't know french phones, But the ringer Equivalence may be different, the frequency response may be different, [20, 30, 40 Hz?] the voltage requirements may be different, DC VS AC? + or - ? or just that it requires that third wire to be separate for the ring?

Re: TV Flyback Transformers

This is a guide line only but with experience and practice it should be a sound guide line to follow. There are many factors that affect the arcing over of a resistor. Humidity, body oils, contaminants, and others. Heat shrink and epoxy as well as high voltage putty will increase the allowable volta...

Re: Strobes and Sparks---TJ Byers

Technically you cant. The strobe unit stores up a large cap into a value of around 500 volts, several hundred micro farads and then applies this voltage / current across a "Gas Discharge Gap" [xenon tube] that wont light at this low voltage on its own, and through the use a micro sized ste...

Re: TV Flyback Transformers

Although the fly back transformer produces a high voltage, and although its not deadly to most healthy people, it is prudent to be aware of its danger and not come in contact with this power. After the fly back If or when using a double or tippler, this voltage becomes very unhealthy to even the hea...

Re: TV Flyback Transformers

To check high voltages you need to make a voltage divider. Take a 10 meg [9 meg actual] resistor and one meg resistor and solder them together. Make these resistors a dead short across the voltage and tap across the one meg resistor[bridge] for a one tenth [apx] reading, or one equals ten. You can d...

Re: Cell phone boosters

As I said in my post, its called Harmonics, and the tank circuit is the heart of all radios. The real joke is placing any cell phone against your head, and trying to fry your brains a little at a time. Like Jolly said, they work on others radios, they MAY work on Cell Radios also. I have no reason t...

Re: Cell phone boosters

I doubt they could sell them [continue] if they didnt work some what? Are they worth the 20 bucks? No, they cost a few pennies to make. Buy one or sketch one, and silk screen it and reproduce it for almost nothing.

Re: Cell phone boosters

Do they work? I Haven't ever used a hand held cell phone, and I never will. The principal or theory is called Harmonic Capacitance. The nearest I would define it as being would be a "Tank" circuit that boosts power by creating a "Fly wheel" like effect using electrons in harmonics.

You cant, and Terra Htz? I think you mean Gig. A couple of watts is what sets the white vans running. They dont wait for complaints, and like Afganistan, They monitor everything. Hit and Run and you'll get away with it. They still wait on over passes and pick off the clone phones, every day of the y...

Re: Desktop PC plugged into a car battery!

Also, thousand dollar convertors were in the last century!!! Circa 1990? You can purchase them now for under one hundred bucks, [even $40!] including pure sine wave. You can also hook up a one to one saturation core transformer for sine wave clean up and voltage maintenance. They cost around 60 buck...

Re: Cordless Phone Linear

Id rather start a betting pool, guessing on how long before the two white vans park out side your home? I push the gray all the way to black, many times over, and got away with it, but Im guessing four hours in your case? Just a hunch? Chill out your self!
