Re: DSS Dish

Yes, but you need to know about lens's and focous. The original signal "should" be adequate but if it is some how weak, any larger dish will improve the signal gain if you properly place the feed horn of your old dish into the exact focal point for that new dish. I would make up a jig with...

Re: Adding component out to DV Camera

If Im reading you right, the answer is no. I have a beta that I stripped down to find a signal to do what I think your saying. There is no composite signal to begin with so you would need a standard Digital to Composite convertor like they use in modern cam corders to run the screen and composite ou...

Re: Adding component out to DV Camera

If your heavy into digital signal processing, it would still complex. If you don't deal with this digital aspect on a regular basis, it would be really a huge project. Your talking about by passing signals around the compression chip, which isn't too hard, but then you also have to recombine them ba...

Re: Low Vsat transistors ?

?Dont know? I was on the R&D site. Some are brand new, some may be available now, some will be on the market in the near future? I read for about a week, so numbers and specs? I'll see if I still have the R&D address. Its Big. Also there are a few other Companies on one site lumped together ...

Re: RF Switch

I would replace the solid state triac [output] with a 120 volt NON latching relay. When the signal comes on to turn on the triac, it goes to a relay instead which isn't designed to latch, and thus the minute the signal lets go [trigger signal from your hand transmitter] the circuit or relay fails tu...

Re: Low Vsat transistors ?

You seem to be doing a lot of research. When you get time check into all of the new "FET" types of new transistors. ZETEX has a whole slew of them on one of their sites under lighting. I was doing some research on them for Fluro lighting and after more than a weeks reading, I hadnt even go...

Cellestron Should have all you need. Last time I saw their new stuff, ten years back, they sold digital drives, Tripod, and computer tracking by punching in a code or name, and the star was in your sights.

Re: Low Vsat transistors ?

I can see your size problem, but turning on a fet, no problem. At worst a small inductor will store the low voltage and when turned off will preform way above the input voltage. Buck boost. A lot of fets cant handle 5 volts at their gate, and they dont draw power at the gate, just the mere presence ...

Re: Low Vsat transistors ?

Have you considered designing around a Fet instead? Resistance can be .2 ohms and even less, current to the 100s of amps, and using a driver circuit if necessary to make it very sensitive?
