Anyone have any recommendations on a good book on VHDL programming? There are many books out there that talk about circuit design and VHDL at the expense of discussion of the VHDL language. I am looking for a book focused on the language. Any informed replies are appreciated.
Thanks.

PIC controlled power supply
Anyone have a schematic for a PIC controlled power supply? I would like to build a power supply that could output a 0-20v, 0-10A and be varied via a PIC such as having the PIC output a 0-5v signal to vary the 0-20v P.S. output. Any help appreciated! <small>[ November 03, 2005, 10:30 AM: Message edit...

fake keyboard
Is there any mods to the keyboard and mouse input (pins) that can be done to fake the computer into thinking it has a keyboard and mouse attached? I am connecting to a computer with "Remote desktop" and when I try to connect I get an error. I dont want to use a KVM due to lack of space but...

Varistor specs
Anyone know of data sheet or specs for a matsushita (panasonic) ZNRV20271U or maybe ZNR2027iU Varistor. Not sure if the last digits are 1U or iU. Panasonic is of no help and web search has yet to produce any info.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: control of AC voltage
Thanks Toejam,
The variac controls the filament voltage (~6.3v) on a 50kv electrron gun. The variac needs to be located in the same cabinet as the HV and the control voltage at the user panel needs to be low ~12VDC.

Re: control of AC voltage
Thanks Edd, I appreciate your input. As for your questions: the variac runs at about 100VAC @ 1Amp. The load is resistive. I thought about the long shaft and knob but the variac and the cabinet it is inclosed in is several hundred feet away. I was thinking of couple of wires and a POT that could be ...

control of AC voltage
Anyone know how to vary the voltage of an AC transformer using a 0-12vdc signal? I now use a 0-130VAC variac, but due to its location near high voltages I do not want to reach in and turn the knob. I also would also not like to use a motor control on the variac. I have heard of puting the load in se...

LCD Displays for stamp
Does anyone know of a large (as close as possible to 5"x7") LCD screen that can be driven by a microcontroller shuch as a basic stamp or an atom. I have a TOSHIBA TLX-1741-C31 but, I dont know what to look for such as what controller the LCD needs to be able to talk to the stamp. Any help ...

Volt to Freq
I am looking for a voltage to frequency converter. I have used the LM331 in the past (with success) but fount it to be somewhat temperamental in less than ideal environments. I have followed the suggestions in the data sheet to make it more stable but I would like a V to F converter that is more rob...
