Thanks for the reply. I see now that I have left out the details I was searching answers for. Let me get my thoughts organized and plan out the details as far as I can and I will be back (later tonight). I got theory of operation down (I think) but I need help with part selection, among other things.

Hi. Seems to me the voltage regulator is kaput, putting too much voltage while charging, destroying it shortly. Anything above 13.8V is to be suspected. Thats not an answer I was hoping for. How could I test if this is the case? Is the fact thats it's at 14.2 proof enough? My battery is rated for 3...

Christmas light Fun
I want to make a basic Christmas light controller. What should I be aware of? I know the lights can only be strung end to end to a total of 4 strands (in most cases). How much current do the draw? I know the fuses are usually 350mA at 120VAC. How could I control the lights? Triac? Relay? I know tria...

Car Battery Questions
I have been through three car batteries in a months time and I'm trying to find answers. My original OEM battery died two years ago. I bought a replacement and it worked fine for the past two years. One day I went out and the battery was dead. I jump started the car and it ran fine. I let it run for...

The pops are not coming from the speakers and this is a CRT TV. The TV is a Sony Wega kd-27fs170. If I run my hand in front of the screen the screen pops more and more and I can feel the static discharge to my hand. I hope this is just some sort of new product build up. While watching it now though ...

It's been awhile
I had the same TV for over 12 years so It's been awhile since I had contact with a new one but I got a new TV for my birthday and I have a few questions. Whenever I turn it on or off I hear static pops for quite some time. When I turn it on the pops go away after about a min but when I turn off the ...

Stupid question.
This is idiotic but it occurred to me the other day. C++ is an updated version of C right? So it's C incremented (C=C+1 // C++) to the next version? Is that where C++ came from or does it have some other significance?

High speed modems are able to send 56K over 3kHz phone lines, take a look at how they do it. Phase modulation, but I don't know the details. Isn't there a difference? Doesn't the modem use analog signaling? My trans and rec are digital. If I'm right I think there is more bandwidth on an analog line...

Thanks for the reply Chris but reception is not the problem. Too much or too little of any thing can kill it all, as perfection is everything. I'm after perfection. Perfection is out of our hands though only our creator can attain perfection. I just want it close enough to work. No matter how much c...

Maybe I should refine my question..... (Edit: Well now that I'm done with this post it's not that well refined but maybe I better expressed what I wanted to know) What is the best way to transfer the maximum amount of data using a transmitter and receiver working at 315MHz with a max data rate of 2....

Maximizing Radio Efficiency
I bought a few cheap RF modules and I don't know how to get the most out of them. The transmitter only sends the carrier at 315MHz. How do I maximize the amount of data that can be transmitted? The spec sheet says both the transmitter and receiver have a data rate of 2.4k bps. I have tried sending j...
