Re: New LCD TV
In my experience with digital x-ray equipment, we still recommend CRT monitors to our customers because of the problems listed above. The biggest issue we run is to is response time. The typical LCD monitor/tv has a response time of about 5ms. With our systems, the video card is outputting video fas...

Re: Lead acid desulfator circuit
Hmmm Its almost beginning to sound like ultrasonic cleaning in which the electrolyte would be the tank fluid and the plates are the object to be cleaned. Wonder if it would be possible to immerse an ultrasonic transducer directly into the electrolyte? Why not put the transducer in a water batch and ...

Re: Garmin GPS Nuvi 200W USB Connector Issue
Actually as far as I know there isn't a law against using a GPS on a commercial aircraft, these are rules enforced by individual carriers. Alaska Airline prohibits GPS use in flight, Southwest allows it. It works best to not have a destination input into the system though, because the system is cons...

Re: Dell 1800MP projector
I would look at heat issues, are all the fans working? Are the airways clean and unobstructed? If it was mine, I would "disassemble gently" to locate the problem. If you feel you are getting in too far, re-assemble and re- evaluate. Sure sounds like an over temp problem to me.

We typically run the tube at 140 kv, with current of about 0.5 ma. I would guess for in a ndt application you run more tube current. We collimate the beam down to about a millimeters width and the object is scanned as it passes through the beam on the conveyor belt. sorry for hijacking the thread Tom

Hi Dac, I am a rep for a major manufacturer of X-ray machines such as those at airports. Typical dose per pass of x-ray for carry-on baggage is between .1 and .3 m/Rem per pass. At this dose, not even 1600 asa/iso film is effected. Your battery problem was not a result of x-ray exposure. best regard...

First project was a burglar alarm, similar to the clothespin switch above, but was a rectangular piece of a tin can that made the switch. Drove a couple nails into a piece of wood for contacts, and the metal was held up by a nail in an oversized hole with a trip wire attached, open the door, pull ou...
