Upon closer examination of the pin out of the board, I identified Ha, Hb and Hc. Those would be the three inputs for the hall sensors.
I'll locate the sensors externally for now or build them into the drive pulley.
I should be able to pull about 1 horsepower out of the alternator.

Wave Rider DAQ
I have a Wave Rider DAQ manufactured by EGS Inc. Cat. No. DASH s/n 05003. Naturally I have no manual or software... The unit has two input terminal strips and has an internal battery for remote operation. It charges with either ac or dc and has what i take to be a serial port. If anyone has any info...
