So what is the main frequency that you wan tto be welding aluminum at if you use a square wave? Please correct me if im wrong because this could be a problem for my welder, but i belive that the high frequency i just for the initial arc from the high voltage to start the main welding arc. I think the reason hf is used so it is slightly safer similar to the way a tesla coil works.

I'm really glad i found this forum. I am making a tig welder of my own and have been doing 2 months of research when ever i get free time from school.
