Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael, I finally dumped the KK2 controller and purchased a NAZA M V2. The programming of the V2 is very similar to the NAZA M Lite, which I used on my first Kronos Flyer, which worked very well. Not sure you can help but on the v2 larger Kronos Flyer there seems to be a delay in the throttle respo...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael, I have officially given up on the KK2 and am looking at either the NAZA M V2 or the APM 2.5+. I went back and reread your Part 6 article covering the APM 2.5 and, setting price aside, was wondering which flight controller would provide the most expansion? I want to be able to program flight...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael, As usual a quick and helpful response. I will mount the battery holder on top. As to the KK2, I will order another NAZA and chalk this up to a learning experience. I will probably build a very small quad and use the KKS on that. OBTW, when done your new shop will be the talk of the net... T...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I am building a slightly larger Kronos Flyer using the FRMP system and I also decided to "play" with the KK2.1.5 flight controller, I have a NAZA on my std Kronos Flyer. I have a couple of questions: 1) Where does the battery mount on the FRMP design? I plan to hang a gimbal under the quad...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

In that case, any chance of glimpsing the leg design now?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael, Any chance you have a design for taller gear legs for the Kronos Flyer up your sleeve? On the larger version of the flyier I want to hang a gimbal and camera underneath so the standard gear will not work. I saw some "crab leg gear on HobbyKing but not sure how they might attach. I esti...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael,

Thank you very much for your help. I see how the FRMP platform holes do line up with the Kronos Flyer holes. Maybe I can find some isolators that may fit. It just may be easier to just buy the isolation platform.

Thanks

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael, Question regarding the FRMP equipment platforms: Can they be used by themselves without using the vibration isolation platform? If so, could you please provide some sort of a exploded view so I can figure out to mount them on my new Kronos bottom frame. I have the feeling that the isolation...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Mr. Simpson, I notice on your FRMP flyer that the motors have spinners? I like the look of thos spinners but I have not been able to find any for the hexTronix DT-700. I tried HobbyKing and Atlanta Hobby, could you please let me know where your sourced those spinners? Thanks. On a second topic, do y...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

This post is a report on what I found after I took my Kronos Flyer apart looking for possible bad connections that may be causing my XT60 connectors to fail. Well lo and behold the bad connection was the power leads that go to the power distribution board. The two male gold plated studs inside the X...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Mr. Simpson I am slowly assembling my new quad using your FRMP parts and I notice that the FRMP boards assemble asymmetricaly and I confirmed this by looking at the magazine artlicles showing the FRMP boards. My question is how do I think about the balance of the quad. Do I weigh each module and con...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Michael, I measured the total current being drawn at hover and it was 25amps. I will take the flyer apart and look for any bad connections. The thing is, I have 5 batteries and it happened to my oldest battery first and then it happened to my next oldest. I put a piece of tape on each of my batterie...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Has anybody had problems with the XT60 connector on the Turnigy 2200mAh batteries? I have had two connectors get hot and then the plastic part of the positive connection starts to slightly melt and the positive connections starts pulling out. I replaced the connector and the problem went away. Thank...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Mr. Simpson, I will be building a larger quad using your FRMP parts and was wondering if you were still happy with the hexTronix DT700 motors for such a build? Just checking before I place an order for the motors. Also I am having a bit of a problem finding the 10x4.5 props on Hobbyking. The ones I ...
