Re: Some help with guitar active controls OpAmp circuit

Steve happy to report the issue has been resolved... To answer your queries, yes it was happening regardless of control settings, or which set of pickups was engaged, etc.. was all very perplexing.. Anyway, in the process of setting things up on the test bench, I used a signal generator (so I wouldn...

Re: Some help with guitar active controls OpAmp circuit

Thanks for the reply Steve... The batteries are new, and verified.. the circuit works ok with low input, but cuts out a the 1v pp area... If it was clipping would I expect to hear serious distortion, as opposed to a complete fade/loss of output? I'll throw the guitar back up on the bench tomorrow an...

Re: Hot Rod Your Guitar with Active Tone Controls. October 2

So, did you get your board built and installed? I got one done using perf board.. However, the amp fades & cuts out when he guitar is played hard, and I'm seeing +/- 1v coming from them.. so thinking the opamp is being overdriven.. probably going to install a resistor in series or a voltage spli...

Hot Rod Your Guitar with Active Tone Controls -- boards?

Hi all.. I know the board is rather simple, but due to space requirements I woulds like to use a PCB instead of perf board, my second option.. as I don't have any goodies left to make my own anymore.. sigh.. Did anyone make boards for this project, and would like to sell me one or two .. :) ?? thank...

Re: Hot Rod Your Guitar with Active Tone Controls. October 2

It appears to be be basically correct, assuming all notations in the article are correct. However you still need to get the connection from pins 2 & 6 to circuit ground.. again possibly right at the connector itself, as long as it gets back to the board too..
