Re: WI FI EXTERNDER

I just use a cheapy wrt54g router with dd-wrt on it, they are much cheaper than what you have and with better range. I have mine sitting in a window and it reaches my camper around 60 feet away with stock antennas. Another thing is, d-link routers are notorious for having weak wifi setups, Ive had n...

Re: Cash for Code

just a quick glance on google, I saw a bunch of projects for the little cars and such, just use thier code but modify it slightly so the new numbers that it normally displays, just subtract the two and multiply it by 1126 to get speed in ft/sec or 343.2 m/s. Here's an example of the projects: http:/...

Re: Yahoo messenger issue..

yea, it doesnt matter if you use IE or not, most messengers like skype, yahoo, etc use IE's internet settings as system wide settings for internet connection. As for the registry fix to disable the ads, open regedit and go to " HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\pager\Locale" and look for "Enable Mess...

Re: Yahoo messenger issue..

it has something to do with internet explorer, just open IE and click into the options, then change the security options to default, and see if that helps, if not, there should be something that you can add to the trusted list in those options that would fix that issue. Other than that, Im not sure.

Re: can't get a FTDI to talk to a Arduino Uno..

yea, you can leave that as is, what it does is enable the programming enable on the chip used as the usb-ttl converter. A few people used to mess with that and reprogram it to make things like midi converters and such or joysticks, then they released the arduino leonardo which is just that chip only...

Re: can't get a FTDI to talk to a Arduino Uno..

oh, the arduino software doesnt care what you use as a usb-serial chip, so the ftdi will show up as just a standard comm port, same as arduino did. just set the comm port the same as the ftdi chip is using and it programs just as a normal arduino uno. The usb-ttl chip on the arduino is just a cheap/...

Re: can't get a FTDI to talk to a Arduino Uno..

have you set the new comm port in arduino software, if not, that'll do it. Another thing that I can think of is does the ftdi comm port show up in device manager, it might need the drivers installed. Also, can you post the error message you get in the arduino software, that will help a ton in diagno...

Re: updates suck ! Favorites folder defaulted back to EI

I honestly have no idea really, it all depends on the email provider if your using web based email, or might be some setting in the email client. I usually just middle click stuff to open it in a new tab really, but I run linux on here, so it might work on windows, might not.

Re: updates suck ! Favorites folder defaulted back to EI

I dont think it has ever been set to default to open all links in a new tab really, not unless something was messed up before. Are you thinking about when you search something in the search bar at the top right? If so, maybe this will help out a little: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/10...

Re: updates suck ! Favorites folder defaulted back to EI

go to edit, prefrences in firefox and look for the option to use firefox as your default browser. You need to set firefox as your default browser again. MS likes to force you to use thier software if you do updates and it really messes with things.
