Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

Here is a workflow I provided for my KRMx02 CNC. The design process is similar. http://www.kronosrobotics.com/workflow/ As for the actual gear design, you will have to purchase software to help you design gears. Involute is one and Gearotic is another. I am working on a second MF70 book and in that ...

Thanks for the update. I will add a tip to my MF70 book to check that if you have problems.

Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

I have purchased six of those boards at different times and all have worked perfectly. Take a picture of the board turned on and post it so IO can take a look at it.

Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

One thing to make sure is that the built-in port has an EPP mode. This setting is normally set in the PC's Bios. In my books this is the first thing I tell the readers to look for when choosing a machine. Older machines did not support EPP and this may not have a parallel port that will work with Ma...

Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

This sounds like a Mach 3 issue and the parallel port pulse engine is not operating. 1. You have to be using a true parallel port. It can not be a usb to parallel port converter. 2. You have to make sure the parallel port settings in XP matches those in the drivers and config (Ports and pin settings...

Re: MF70 CNC Conversion

For you guys that have been asking, I have completed the first book on the MF70 conversion. I'm calling it "Building the KRmf70 CNC". I will be selling the book on my web site for now, but it will eventually move to Amazon and other online retailers. You can get more information here: http://www.kro...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I have not seen this problem. You might try playing with the settings. I know they keep updating the firmware on the DJI and its hard to keep up with them. Normally the default settings worked fine.

Its possible that your ESCs need to be recalibrated.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

The APM promises a lot, but I have yet to get it to deliver on everything. It is not as stable as the NAZA and takes more effort just to get it running, much less full auto mode. I was never able to get the telemetry to work with the APM. Not sure it was a software or hardware issue.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

Look at the NAZA Lite. You can pick one up without the GPS for under $100. It will run circles around the KK2.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

You can mount the battery anywhere you want as long as it is centered. Top or bottom. However, if you are using a isolation platform, the battery should go on the top of the FRMP component platform. This way the isolation platform can do its job better with the added mass on the clean side of the pl...

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

No.

Just take the existing legs and use them as a pattern to create some larger legs.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I ran out of room in my current lab and shop. I am in the process of building a new one (Converting a barn I built a while back). Wont do any more books or articles until the conversion is complete.

Here is my blog for the conversion:

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

I have designed taller legs for my drone book. The goal is to give enough clearance for a gimbal.

Re: Kronos Flyer Series

The isolation platform is only needed if you want to use a camera or FPV. It is used to keep the vibration from interfering with the cameras. In addition some controllers like the APM my need some isolation or they will perform badly. The isolation platform has the same hole pattern on the top as th...
