Hi,
Anyone remember VHS tape players? Ha ha.
These things are getting phased out too if they havent been already.
I have a VHS recorder/player i havent used in probably 5 years now. It's been unplugged.

Re: Odd Commercial Products.........
Hi, The Sony Betamax lasted for some years but then lost out to VHS. I think it tanked a little after year 2000 or so, maybe sooner. The best has yet to come though with *congresswoman elect* Alexandria Ocasio Cortez's little statement: "We need to invent technology that hasn't been invented ye...

Re: Opus BT-C3400 lipo charger / tester
Hi,
Yeah a new version would be nice. Maybe they have a way to update it but not sure right now.
Then again, i might not want to try it since it is working right now and if the update fails i could end up with a box that does nothing

Re: Opus BT-C3400 lipo charger / tester
Hi, Oh yeah, i had that problem too. A little strange. Also sometimes i like to review the capacity and the final voltage so that becomes a problem too as you cant just set it and look at the reading because it "goes away" after a short time. Lucky pressing more times will get it back again.

Re: Opus BT-C3400 lipo charger / tester
Hi again, Oh i am happy you got it to work now. Yes, you have to wait the 30 seconds to see if the display goes off again, which it does not if you held in the DISPLAY button long enough. THat's the right time too i think, 30 seconds, because if you dont press the button and hold for 5 seconds it tu...

Re: Opus BT-C3400 lipo charger / tester
Hello there, I have the same model apparently, on the back it says BT-C3400 v3.1 and when i press and hold the DISPLAY button for about 5 seconds or so the display does not turn off anymore like it does before i do that. You reminded me i had to charge one of my batteries so i just tried this again ...

Re: How select the Commonly Used Electronic Components
Daily contact with electronic components is a common practice for engineers, but for beginners, even if they have information about the type of components they need, it is a headache when they browse the merchants to buy them. The datasheet is the same, and there are some additional reference value...

Re: Amplifier LM358—classical circuits
Recently, I saw a article about amplifier LM358 with 24 classical circuit, it lists so many circuit schematic diagrams, but without specific description of each circuit. I have a little confused, I try connecting the author to get some simple summary of these diagrams, but he said it transmitted th...

Re: A Simple but Accurate Constant Current Source
Hello there, I would just add a few comments here. We have to keep in mind that the reference diode for the LM317 and similar is on the same chip as the pass transistor. This creates a voltage reference drift with CURRENT as well as with temperature. The CURRENT problem is because the pass transisto...

Hello Sean, Looks good so far. I actually got to post a reply a little while ago and did not have to go nuts trying to use the back button and copy and paste and whatnot to get the post to 'take' into the board. Just as a small request that has bugged me for years now... On many many sites when we t...

Re: Message Board update
Hi, Yes that's always good for an electronics message board. Hi MrAl. I've been checking out the website Electro-Tech Forum; https://www.electro-tech-online.com/ I noticed you've been a member there for years. They have lots of pictures, schematics and files there, that people have uploaded. I'm th...

Re: Experimenting with Hot Glue..
Hi Len, I use JB Weld too and have for years now. It came in really handy some years back when i had to repair an exhaust valve because there were no more made for that car and i had to get through inspection. It did not see the full heat of the exhaust manifold, but was nonetheless under the hood w...

Re: TV lacking remote control...
Hi, I had a problem with my AOC TV a while back and replace the four low voltage large value electrolytics and it worked again and continued working. The power button on the TV itself became a problem too though, it would not work every time. I had to hold it in for like 4 seconds and hope it would ...

Re: Nicad Battery Charger with NiMH Batteries.............
Hi, Wow, 400mAHr cells? Wow, where can i get 1000 of them  Seriously that is way low, with most these days around 2000mAHr. Nice of EG to be honest about the 400 rating though, that shows integrity in sales. So the 400mAHr rating at 50mA means about a 4 to 5 hours charge. That means 16 hours ...

Re: Nicad Battery Charger with NiMH Batteries.............
Hello there, Because the charger only puts out 50ma and only charges for 16 hours it should be ok. However, it will not charge the cells to full capacity if these are modern AA NiMH cells. That's because these cells will be around 2000mAHr or better, and 50ma for 16 hours would only charge them to a...
