mosfet h bridge questiion

I want to make an H bridge controller for a power wheelchair that someone gave me, and I have some IRFP054N mosfets, which should be more than enough to power the two 24 volt wheelchair motors, which have a peak current of 100 amps according to the spec sheet for the motors. The spec sheet for the I...

Thanks Mr.Ai, I was looking at the size of the wires to the motors and did not think about how short the distances from thr mosfet leads were. In the to 220 pkg I'm using, the spec sheet has pin 2 and the screw plate both listed as the drain. Do you know if this means I could cut off pin 2 and screw...

power mosfet mounting

I would like to make a pwm power mosfet circuit for an electric wheelchair base. Each of the two motors draw about 35 amps, but Probably much more when first starting. Should I construct some sort of socket for the mosfet source and drain pins? It doesn't seem like it would be possible to make a tra...

I just figured a much simpler way. I am just going to unplug the controller that came with the wheelchair and get another connector and then plug in the controller I am going to make, then I can have both, a joystick backup and a computer control, the joystick for the inevitable episodes of smoke un...

power wheelchair hack

Hi everyone. I have obtained a power wheelchair that I would like to hack. It has a joystick controller that is hooked to the batteries and motor through a large 10 pin connector. What I would like to do is make a breakout box from this connector so that I could use the joystick as a backup control ...

wireless router on battery

Thanks a lot jollyrgr for such good input. Obviously, being in a rural area is no longer a protection from hackers and I am really glad you made me aware of the danger. I definitely will re-think my project and will probably just hardwire it to the computer and start the show out in the field with t...

wireless router on battery

The router will beway out in the country, so there will be very little interference with other wireless networks and a slim to no chance of hackers. I have one more wuestion though, the wall wart says it puts out 9 volts, would there be a problem if I used a 12 volt auto battery?

wireless router on battery

I want to use a wireless router to control fireworks by computer. The one I have has a wall wart for it's power. Can I just clip off the wall wart and hook the router to a battery that has the same voltage and enough amperage to match the wall wart's output? Has anyone out there tried such a thing a...

Relay contact voltages

I want to use a 12 volt automotive relay to switch 36 volts DC. I am using a 12 volt dc supply for the relay coil, but the contacts will cary 36 volts. My relay is rated for 30 amps at 12 volts. Do I need to get a bigger relay to run 36 volts at 30 amps or will the contacts on the relay I have work ...

perhaps you could remove the plastic layer of one side on a small patch with acetone or some other chemical, and then use conductive epoxy to glue your contact to the metal film. Please let us know if you find a way. Thanks, Zotdoc.

not to be overly simplistic, but get a case to put the thing in that will keep the buttons from being pressed by accident. I'm not sure that you would be able to take the automatic wake up feature out without taking out the automatic sleep after 45 seconds feature, and that would not be a battery sa...

My truck has an outdoor thermometer and when conditions are right, it reads "ICE" instead of the temperature. There must me some chip out there that will make the circuit you want easy. Try the Maxim site.
