Re: firefox question
IE comes with that functionality out of the box, Firefox does not. Thankfully Firefox is extensible. Download this add-on and enjoy https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... -homepage/

Re: MAC Question
But I am a bit confused. Is there a Thunderbird for Mac? or do Mac users have to setup their email account form the MAIL icon that appears? A Mac user can use either one (or both technically). There is a Mac version of Thunderbird which can be found here . Choose your operating system, preferred la...

Re: MAC Question
Thunderbird, Outlook and other similar programs are just front ends to access a mail server elsewhere using the POP or IMAP protocols. What email service does your friend use? Hotmail, Gmail, Aol.com, Yahoo, etc.? If your friend has been downloading messages using POP she may only have the one copy ...

Wow a spammer revived another spammers post from over a year ago. This raises two questions, why has the first message not been deleted by now and why are spammers still posting in the first place? N&V, one easy step to eliminate most of the spam here is to set limit of how many posts you must h...

Re: wireless router questions...
Visit the WAP11 page and select your hardware revision number. Then download the user manual and it describes using it as a wireless repeater (page 20 on the one I checked - pictured page number not the actual PDF page number). If you set it near a window you might just get it to work.

Firefox or Internet Explorer or both?
Has anyone else used the computer recently? Is it a full time shared computer?
Windows XP, Vista or 7?
On all sites or just this one?

Has Nuts and Volts just given up? The same spammer has been posting for over a week. He's not the only one spamming either. Half of the most recent posts have at least one spam post within the thread somewhere. One spammer even managed to get a response from me and Michael Kaudze which baffles me. H...

Re: Internet Explorer 8
Open Internet Explorer and along the menu bar click Help and then About. I hope you're not still using IE6... A visit to the Windows update site should prompt you to install/upgrade to IE8. If it doesn't google IE8 and the top result should be the official MS IE8 page where you can start the downloa...

Re: Anyone have/use an SD card reader?
I have and use one and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's fast, supports almost any portable media, SD, MMC, Memory Stick, MicroSD, MiniSD, Compact Flash, SM and was cheap from NewEgg.com. For my camera (a Canon SD600) it's easier to open the SD card slot than remove the rubber door covering the...

Re: Cell phone connection to compfuser ?
Yes, there are plenty of phones that provide that capability. It's called tethering. Most cell providers charge dearly for it. There are ways to tether a phone using its normal data plan with no extra fee but it often requires the phone to be jailbroken, rooted, hacked, etc. It's dead simple with iP...
